CHAPTERS 4 HARMONY

Chapters4Harmony is a club based in central Pennsylvania for student musicians in college and younger to perform in local nursing homes to connect the community. We aim to spread this mission in new areas through the opening of new chapters.

Nursing Homes:

A loneliness epidemic among nursing home residents is taking prevalence in communities nationwide due to significantly lower community engagement and social interaction.

Student Performers:

Many student musicians face stage fright due to a lack of regular performance experience resulting from a lower availibility of convenient and low-pressure performance venues.

Chapters4Harmony:

Chapters4Harmony tackles both problems by connecting generations through music, providing a non-judgemental performance venue promoting community interaction.

Any student musicians in college or younger in the local Harrisburg area would be welcome to join our inaugural chapter. If interested in starting your own chapter in your local area, contact us at the email below.

Hi, I'm Ava! I am a premedical student at Elizabethtown College, and I've been playing the Alto Saxophone since fifth grade. I started playing duets with my brother Samuel in tenth grade and I had my first nursing home recital in eleventh grade. During my first year of college, I started Chapters4Harmony with Samuel to unite students and the elderly in nursing homes through their love of music.

Hi, I'm Samuel! I am a high school student at Camp Hill and have been a pianist for over ten years. Ava and I decided to start playing music together a few years ago and since then have been performing for retirement communities. We hope our local club will positively impact our community and expand in the future!
